When I'm Bored I Baked

Well at least, when all ingredients are available....

With hubby away in Sabah, the girls away, (#2 back to college in UiTM Perak and #3 doing her internship at Outward Bound School, Lumut !) and my son who comes back from work late most of the time. Why is he late? Well, he's girlfriend interns at a bank and her working hours are rather odd... she finishes around 9pm or later, so he picks her up and sends her back to her rented house.  Awwwww so nice isn't he ?  hehehe.  And so, there I was alone at home (not counting the cats, they zzzzzzzzzzz and the maid resting in her room), getting bored with FBing, the TV etc, so I baked !

Nothing beats having warm bread with jam. If only I had soup that night, it would have been better, but I didn't, so jam it was... FIG jam some more.

Cupcake Penganti Diri

There was a mini reunion organized by my college juniors last Saturday, 17 July 2010. It was held in Alor Setar but I was not able to go. So in my place sent them a cupcakes. Am glad that they enjoyed the cuppies. Sent two sets of cupcakes, vanilla cuppies and carrot cuppies. Both with cheese frosting...

The search for 'the' moist chocolate cake recipe begins....

So what started this search? At the Ikea sale a few days ago, I bought myself a couple of lovely red plastic box storage in which I intend to keep/store all my baking things. As I was clearing my old copier paper box that I'd been using all these while as my storage, I found a package of chocolate cake mixture.  So I baked (b4 it expires, I'd better...).  But this is a premix after all, its rather dry esp the bottom and hence my search for a good recipe. Am gonna bake using a recipe found in the internet tomorrow, my faithful testers are in for a treat, aren't they?  He he he

Who knows, if it turns out well and up to my very own high standards & satisfaction, I might include choc cupcakes and cakes in my baking repertoire !

Free breakfast and more cakes

Today is Ikea's first day of Sale. From 7am to 9.30am today, they giving free breakfast for all Ikea friends who's attending this morning's members preview. I'm on MC today with flu, but I went for the free breakfast. Nothing to shout about as far as the sale is concern though...

My breakfast this morning (but orange juice and the caramel pudding is not part of the FOC breakfast);

Last weekend, we had a kenduri but did at my brother-in-laws place in Kajang, made carrot cakes for dessert for the lunch do, and then for Sunday birthday celebrations, Tina my friend from college days ordered a carrot cake for Khairul, Alinda's hubby.
